Group Class DETAILS
Beginner Class
This class is designed for fencers, ages 6 and up, who are just beginning on their fencing journey, no experience necessary. It covers the fundamentals of footwork and sabre fencing. Equipment is provided by the club. After getting the hang of the basics, fencers in this level class are welcome to join the Intermediate Level 1 class on Saturdays.
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 1 CLASS

Topics that this class will cover are advanced techniques, advanced footwork, situational strategy, and strip control. This class has a combination of footwork exercises, group drills, structured bouting, and bouting/video review. There is some expectation that fencers at this level are competing at a regional/national level or are looking to get there. Equipment is provided by the club, if necessary.

ADULT CLASS
This class is designed for adult fencers of Beginner or Intermediate level who are looking to learn in a more even-footed environment. There is no “too old” to start learning fencing, but it helps to have some parity with those you are learning with. Equipment is provided by the club.
COMPETITION CLASS
This class is focused entirely on competitive bouting and general competition etiquette. While most bouting done at the club has a primary purpose of learning techniques, the focus of bouting in this class is creating the mentality to win the touch, to win the bout, and to keep the spirit of the sport. This is also a great class if you are interested in learning how to referee (contact Coach Jon if this is your interest).
FOOTWORK and CONDITIONING
This class is focused on conditioning and footwork, and is open to all levels and all weapons. Good footwork is core to fencing, and is just as important as bladework. This is a high-paced class and there is no bladework.
